By train: Leonardo Express and FL1
The Leonardo Express leaves the airport station every 15 minutes and reaches Termini in 32 minutes, 14 euro per person. The FL1 costs 8 euro but does not stop at Termini: it serves Trastevere, Ostiense and Tiburtina. Either way, the last mile with luggage is still yours.
By bus: the budget option
Several companies link the airport with Termini and the Vatican in 50-70 minutes, depending on traffic, for 6-7 euro. Frequent by day, far less at night; with bags and children comfort is low.
By taxi: the flat fare
The official taxi rank charges a flat 55 euro between Fiumicino and destinations inside the Aurelian walls, luggage included. Outside the walls (Eur, Parioli, upper Monteverde) the meter runs. On cruise disembarkation days the queue can top twenty minutes.
By private transfer: door to door
